Syble C. Collins

Services for Syble C. Collins will be held Saturday, February 4, 2023, at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Bonita. Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M. followed by a Funeral Service at 10:30 A.M. officiated by her grandson, Allen Carr. A Graveside Service will be led by Dr. R Scott Harrell.

Ms. Collins, 88, of Meridian, died Sunday, January 29th at her home. Ms. Collins worked at Peavey Electronics until leaving to care for her ailing mother. Her primary joy came from helping and caring for her family. She never turned down an opportunity to assist anyone who asked.  She was a strong, independent woman, a very talented seamstress, and enjoyed working in her yard.  Although most of her life was spent in Meridian, Ms. Collins also lived many years in AL, MO, VA, and Germany.  She was a lifelong member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.

Survivors include daughters: Debbie Carr and husband Russell, Donna Nester and husband Donald. Grandchildren: Stacey (Bobby) Davis, Pasadena, TX, Allen (Kelly) Carr, Lesley (Terry) Jenkins, Jessica (Mac) Hamburg, Ocean Springs, MS, and Cody Nester, Long Beach, MS. Great grandchildren: Carson Boutwell, Micah, Elizabeth, Rachel and Abigail Carr, Jack and Tedder Davis, Kobe and Karter Jenkins, Leo and Rosalie Hamburg. Brothers: Cecil (Dot) Murphy, Wallace Murphy, and her sister, Martha Richards, Ventura, CA.

She is preceded in death by her parents J.A. and Annie Murphy, brothers: James Jr. (Mildred) Murphy, Bobby (Glenda) Murphy, and the father of her children, Leroy Collins.

Pallbearers will be Donald Nester, Allen Carr, Cody Nester, Bobby Davis, Mac Hamburg, and Terry Jenkins.
